Absolutely Stunning Completely Restored 1975 Kawasaki Z1B 900
In 1972, Kawasaki turned the Muscle bike segment upside down with their new Z1. The Z1 took the market with its big inline four and breaking almost every performance record along the way. This 1975 has a fresh complete nut and bolt restoration done to the highest of quality and one of these nicest we have seen. The most powerful 4-cylinder 4-stroke Japanese motorcycle of its time was purchased from its original owner before a comprehensive restoration returned the Zed One to its rightful place on the superbike throne.
No nut or bolt was left unturned. The steel tube frame was stripped and finished with a baked-on black powdercoat, and new swing arm and steering stem needle bearings brought the suspension and steering back into spec. The original hubs, new stainless steel spokes, D.I.D rims and new tires are ready to roll, and the rarely seen factory optional dual-disc front brake setup packs a new master cylinder and calipers.
Kawasaki's 903cc dual overhead camshaft engine beat the Honda CB750 in power and durability with over 80 HP on tap. The roller bearing crankshaft and straight-cut primary gear setup were simple, effective and durable under pressure. Engine No. Z1E080683 was equipped with a new APE clutch, a Dyna S electronic ignition upgrade, new seals and a permanently lubricated 630 O-ring chain and sprocket matched set. House of Kolor premium paint brought the tank and bodywork back to their Candy Super Red luster, and new chrome fenders, polished aluminum and four exhausts add the finishing touch. This bike is shaken down and ready roll, the Z1 is one of the finest vintage Japanese motorcycles to ride and this example does not disappoint.
